Swimming with the Whales

Swimming with the Whales is an art book publishing project based in Cairo, Egypt. This project started with one book in 2023, by 2025 it has become a collective, showing the work of 4 artists. We published 10 publications, including a variety of zines, art books and a children’s book that was well received and celebrated in Sharjah Children’s Book Illustrations Exhibition (SCRF) in 2024. We have been a part of Cairo Art Book Fair for three years now and in August 2026 we got to participate in FLYLEAF zine and book festival in Berlin. Swimming with the Whales, as a project, is designed to also create experimental contexts such as workshops and creative gatherings, to make space for its artists and others to learn, share, and celebrate, not just knowledge but the wonderment of the creative process. We hope to create chances for more creative and philosophical adventures, where people could genuinely explore, play around, and produce.
